On February 7, 2017, it was confirmed, after nomination by newly sworn in President Trump, that Betsy Devos would serve as the 11th U.S. Secretary of Education. She seems the perfect choice, after spending almost three decades as a child advocate and parental voice. One of her passions being that all children receive a quality education, no matter what there life’s status be, wealthy or poor, does not matter, all children deserve an equal start when it comes to education.Betsy’s interest in the public school system began at a young age, as she watched her own mother, a public schoolteacher; and then later, when she sent her own children to school.
