Sao Paolo Catarina Executive Airport is slated to open sometime this year and will be the largest private airport anywhere in Brazil. It will feature an 8,000-foot runway and facilities to accommodate intercontinental-range private jets. This will dramatically reduce the time that the elite jet-set needs to spend around the airport when coming into and out of the Sao Paulo metropolitan area. It is anticipated that this airport may attract billions of dollars in capital to the Sao Paulo area, making it a major new source of economic development.
